Importing a car you found on AutoScout24
AutoScout24 and mobile.de are the two largest European marketplaces. Finding the right car there is one thing; turning it into a profitable import is another. Here is the method.
1. Filter out the listings worth your time
Favour sellers with a documented service history, plenty of photographs and mileage that adds up. Be wary of prices that are too low: clocked odometers and hidden defects do exist.
2. Work out the landed cost BEFORE contacting the seller
Paste the listing URL into the DCZ IMPORTS calculator (or use the browser extension): you get the landed cost in France, the margin and a GO/NO-GO verdict in seconds.

Open the calculator3. Secure the purchase and the transport
Check the history (CarVertical), ask for the COC (certificate of conformity), agree on transport (trailer or driving it back) and on transit plates. Keep every piece of evidence (invoice, CMR consignment note) for the quitus fiscal (the French tax clearance certificate).
