Import a car from the Netherlands to France
The Netherlands is a quality source for imports: well maintained vehicles, a transparent market thanks to the RDW (the Dutch vehicle authority, which holds the national register), and a short run to France. On some premium models the prices are genuinely competitive.
The Dutch market
Dutch owners generally look after their cars very well, with rigorous service histories. The market is transparent thanks to the RDW system, which centralises technical data and vehicle history.
Marktplaats.nl and AutoScout24 are the main platforms. Listings there are usually described in detail, with plenty of photographs.

Dutch deregistration (exportkenteken, the export registration that releases the car for use abroad) has to be requested in order to take the vehicle out of the RDW register. Keep every document: the transfer certificate (tenaamstelling, the Dutch record of the registered keeper) is essential for the quitus fiscal (the French tax clearance certificate).
The rest of the process (quitus, certificate of conformity or COC, and the application on the ANTS, the French national vehicle registration agency) is the same as for a German import.
